The number of LGBTQ bars in the US has dropped over 36% since 2007 and they’ve faced even more closures as a result of the pandemic.
Ahead of Pride month in 2022, Absolut launched Out & Open — a digital experience celebrating LGBTQ bars and the many ways these critical spaces serve the LGBTQ community.
In collaboration with Absolut and Weber Shandwick, we designed the look and feel of the entire experience from the branding to the website, OOH campaign, and social content.

The experience is built around an audio-visual series, captured by photographer Bronson Farr, that brings to life real stories from inside the walls of these vital queer spaces.
In the series, members of the LGBTQ community share their personal stories that highlight the poignant role that LGBTQ bars have played, and continue to play, in their lives.
Gilbert Baker’s iconic rainbow flag ties the stories together with vibrant colors representing the range of voices that make up the LGBTQ community.
The Absolut Rainbow bottle is a physical reminder of the brand's belief that a colorful, diverse and equal world is something to strive and work toward.
